Finally I've got my cable and can tell you all about my journey to LSBU!
I arrived at London Liverpool Street Station yesterday around 9 and had a good but tiring journey by train and ferry, but enough of the feeling sorry for myself.
Took the tube to Elephant and Castle and had to walk about 5 min. to get to Mc Laren house, the Hall I will be representing these 5 months. Did the room inspection and got around to buying the things I will need (including the damned web cable, no wifi in the halls sadly).
Which brings me to the getting around in London part. Be sure to get yourself an oyster card (the blue thingy you see everyone using to get into the tube station) you'll pay less for each journey and the 5 pounds you have to pay is a deposit, so you'll get it back.
When taking public transport the tube will get you anywhere real quick but is quite expensive. You might opt for a bus, a real red double-decker while give you an amazing view. If you want to go somewhere close or have time but not that much money to spare just walk. There are little maps all over the place and million of little cafés, pubs or your favourite foodchain to sit down when your leg get tired or your feet hurt.
